Quinn's Date is the eighth episode of Season 1 of the Nickelodeon TV series Zoey 101. It originally aired on March 6, 2005.

Plot

Quinn develops a crush on fellow PCA student Mark Del Figgalo but is too nervous to ask him out herself. She asks Zoey to do it for her, but when Zoey asks, Mark turns her down. Not wanting to hurt Quinn’s feelings, Zoey lies and says he said yes. She and Chase then come up with a plan to arrange a date between Quinn and Mark without Mark realizing it.

Meanwhile, Dustin agrees to take care of Elvis the dog while the other boys are unavailable, despite having a fear of animals.

Trivia

  • Matthew Underwood (Logan Reese) does not appear in this episode, although his character is mentioned.
  • This episode marks the first appearance of recurring character Mark Del Figgalo.
  • This episode also marks the beginning of Quinn and Mark’s romantic relationship, which continues until Season 4.
  • In production and streaming order, this is the ninth episode of Season 1.
  • The hockey jersey worn by Dustin in this episode closely resembles that of the NHL team the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, which is based in California—the same state where the series is set.
  • This is the first episode of the series directed by Steve Hoefer.
  • It is discovered in this episode that Quinn has an extra toe. Although she doesn't say it, she puts up her right foot, which could only mean that it is on her right foot. Her extra toe on her right foot is mentioned in Drippin' Episode and her as her secret in Zoey's Balloon.
  • Dana’s hairstyle is noticeably different in this episode, as well as in Disc Golf and Little Beach Party.

Goofs

  • During the picnic scene, the straw in the sparkling apple juice bottle changes color multiple times. It is blue when Mark drinks from it, turns pink when Quinn asks for some, and then returns to blue while he is pouring.
  • In the iTunes version of the episode, when Quinn begins dancing, the camera abruptly cuts to a shot of the school building, likely intended as a commercial break transition. This scene appears to be a glitch and is corrected in the Paramount+ version.
