Lola Likes Chase is the ninth episode in Season 2 and the 22nd overall episode in the Nickelodeon TV series, Zoey 101. Going by streaming and/or production order, this is the 8th episode of Season 2. The episode aired on February 26, 2006.

Plot

When Lola develops a crush on Chase, Zoey and Chase are forced to address their relationship. With some advice from Michael, Chase decides to say yes to the date. As he forgets about the plans he made with Zoey, Zoey feels jealous and vents to Nicole about Chase and Lola.

Meanwhile, Logan, after giving Dustin a makeover, teaches Dustin how to impress the ladies, only to see Dustin get a date and fails to get one himself.

Trivia

• In this episode, Chase says he likes a girl from his hometown, presumably to hide his crush on Zoey. Coincidentally, he gets a girlfriend from his hometown, Rebecca, who guest stars in Season 3.
• In this episode, it is discovered that Quinn plays the trombone. She also plays it in Quinn's Alpaca.
• Chase was told he would get pie for tutoring Lola, but she never made him any.
• In this episode, it finally becomes evident that Zoey likes Chase, although it has been clear that Chase likes Zoey right from the beginning of the series. Zoey wouldn't find out Chase liked her until part 2 of Goodbye Zoey.
• Going by production order, this is the 8th episode of Season 2.
• When Dustin and Logan are walking by the group of girls, the one who says "the little one's hot" is holding one of the backpacks seen in the episode Backpack.
• Michael & Nicole each only appeared in two scenes in this episode, and Quinn only appeared in one.
  • Nicole only appearing in two scenes in this episode could've been a sign that she was leaving.
  • She only appears in the first half of the episode (especially the scene right before the blackout) and is absent entirely during the second half.
• Chase reveals he has a dog named Chester.
• Nicole's voice is noticeably deeper in this episode.
• In this episode, a contrast is made where Logan is the jerk while Dustin is the nice guy. In the series finale, however, it's the other way around.
  • Consequently, in this episode Dustin gets the girl while Logan doesn't, and then in the series finale Logan gets the girl while Dustin doesn't.
• The clip of the boy in the blue shirt, the curly haired boy in the purple shirt, and the girl with the orange shirt and jeans walking was used from the episode Robot Wars.
• When the ending credits display, although the Zoey 101 theme does play, the beginning piano notes of the theme song is actually heard when showing the clips. In a way, it does sound a little romantic considering there was dating in this episode.
  • The same thing happens in the credits on both parts of Spring Break-Up.
• The subplot of this episode has some similarities to the 2001 episode of The Book of Pooh called Tigger's Replacement.

Goofs

• Logan was wet before he was completely in the fountain.
• In Logan Gets Cut Off, Logan says he pays the lunch lady Juanita to fluff his hair. However, he is shown doing Dustin's hair in this episode, meaning that he clearly knows how to style hair himself.
  • Albeit he could just be too lazy to do it himself, and he probably does his hair plenty when he is not at PCA.
  • He also probably didn't have Juanita fluffing his hair yet.
• When Dustin and Logan walk out to impress girls, Dustin is seen wearing a red shirt, but when they walk to Chase, it turned blue.
• When Chase comes to talk to Zoey at the end of the episode when they are getting ready to watch the show on TV. The camera is on Chase, and we see someone coming down the stairs and the camera goes to Zoey then back to Chase the same person is again coming down the stairs.
• In the end credits, there was a brief shot of Nicole wearing a bright red shirt. However, in her first scene, she is wearing a yellow shirt, and in her second scene, she is wearing a light blue shirt.
  • It could have been from a deleted scene.
