Hands on a Blix Van is the twenty-first episode in Season 3 and the 47th overall episode in the Nickelodeon TV series Zoey 101. It is the 20th episode of Season 3 in streaming and production order. The episode first aired on November 18, 2007.

Plot

There is a contest to see who can keep their hand on a Blix van for the longest. The winner gets a private Blix jet for two to anywhere in the world, and many people are determined they can win. Logan tries to win by lying about breaking his leg and requesting a chair so the competition would be easier for him, scaring students off by screaming in their ears or sneezing on their hands. Zoey eventually wins by tricking Logan. Meanwhile, Quinn can't stop laughing after using a breath spray to get rid of her bad breath. Eventually, Lola stops the laughing by kissing Mark.

Trivia

• Paul Butcher (Dustin Brooks) did not appear in this episode.
• This is yet another episode in which a "Quinnvention" works but has an unintended side effect.
• This entire episode is similar to the first five minutes of the Family Guy episode Trading Places (season 9 episode 13).
• In the beginning of the episode, Quinn says "There are no penguins in Alaska", which is a reference to a Chiodos song.
• Going by production order, this is the 20th episode of Season 3.
• The Blix Van is a Dodge Sprinter.
• This is the only season 3 episode that features Zoey with curly hair. However, in Canada, there are two episodes that show Zoey with curly hair. PCA Confidential and Hands on the Blix Van are made as Season 3 in Canada (despite PCA Confidential being as the last episode of Season 4).
• Zoey manages to eliminate Lola from the contest by pointing out a guy named Brad to her. Ironically, nine years later in 2016, Victoria Justice would star in The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again where her character, Janet Weiss, loved a man named Brad.
• The resolution of Lola and Quinn's subplot is almost prescient as it involves Victoria's character kissing the stoic boyfriend of a pale and overly jealous girl solely for the purpose of inciting anger within the jealous girl, events which would reoccur in the pilot of Victorious, Victoria's next series.
• Matthew Underwood got hit in the groin by Christopher Massey behind the scenes in this episode.
• Morals:
  • Don't fake a broken leg
  • Locking someone in a port-a-potty is mean.
  • Fighting for a special prize is wrong.

Goofs

• In this episode, Zoey, Lola, and Quinn have a mini fridge. But in the episode before, "Son of a Dean", Zoey's then-boyfriend Lance, who is Dean Rivers' son, gets them a regular sized refrigerator. The girls were likely forced to get rid of it, since a refrigerator that big isn't typically allowed at colleges or boarding schools.
• After the twenty-minute break, it shows Michael and Lisa next to each other, but then it flips away. In the next shot, there is a guy with a yellow shirt in between them.
• 8 But since the Blix man said there were occasional 5-minute breaks, it is possible he went there after one ended.
• When Zoey is first told by the janitor about the other outhouse, her hair is curly. However, when she enters it, her hair is straight.
• When Logan tells Stacey she can be his girlfriend for a week if she lets go of the van, she said it was her first relationship. However, in "Quarantine," she had a boyfriend named Danifer. It could be possible, however, that they didn't date for a long time and therefore Stacey doesn't consider it a 'real' relationship.
