The Chase and Michael friendship (in fandom known as Mase) is the friendship between Chase Matthews and Michael Barret. They have been best friends throughout the whole show. In Season 4, Michael is shown to miss Chase as he drew a picture of them together in Fake Roommate and when Chase comes back to PCA in Part 2 of Chasing Zoey, Michael grabbed Chase very excitedly both when he sees him and when he finds out about Chase and Zoey dating.

Season 1[]

Welcome to PCA[]

Both are on Logan's basketball team and play against the girls.
In the end of the episode, both of them together apologize for being to rough on the girls and that not all of the boys are like Logan.

New Roomies[]

When Chase saw Michael coming by the table he said, "Speaking of freakish roommates."
Michael asked Chase if he was going to the game with him and Logan.
When Michael saw Chase with a rose, Chase just said "just don't tell Logan" and Michael said "no worries".

Webcam[]

Michael helped Chase (and everyone else) get revenge on Logan for spying on the girls.

Defending Dustin[]

They both get a dog and ask the girls to take care of them for a few days.
They give Dustin advice of how to deal with a jerk.
They are hanging out with the girls in the end of the episode.

Prank Week[]

Both of them (along with Logan) explain Prank Week.
Michael tells Chase that he should tell Zoey he likes her as she is about to leave PCA.
They both helped Logan not get Zoey expelled in the end.
They both said that it wasn't their idea and they both pointed at Logan when Zoey asked "well who?".

Jet-X[]

Both help Zoey not be late for class and interrupt the teacher outside.
Both are a part of Logan's team for the Jet-X commercial.

The Play[]

Logan teases Chase and Michael for being on a play together and both defend.
Chase and Logan both look at Michael weirdly when he said "The quarterback is a pretty handsome dude."
Chase talks to Michael when he is upset that Logan got casted in the play and not him.

Quinn's Date[]

Both of them are seen talking to Zoey about Quinn's crush on Mark.
Both of them ask Dustin to take care of Elvis as both of them have study group all week and Logan has surf team practice.

Spring Fling[]

Both of them help the girls to get 5,000 so Drake Bell can come to PCA and sing.

Backpack[]

Chase is reading a magazine and asks Michael questions.
Zoey asks both of them on why they are reading Teen Girl Magazines.
When Zoey said that both of them are sick, neither deny and both said, "pretty much".
When Nicole asks Chase for 50 bucks, both Chase and Michael say, "We are late" and run as fast as they can.
Both say "Hey" to Quinn.
They both laugh at Quinn's Banapple idea.
Both say "sup" to Zoey and Nicole.
When Zoey said what are they are up to, Chase and Michael said that they are both going to catch a movie on campus and asks if they want to come.
Both of them (along with Zoey and Nicole) are mad at Stacey for stealing Zoey's backpack idea.
When Chase comes to the lunch table with Michael, Nicole, Dana and Zoey, he comes to tell them about thew newspaper for the latest backpacks Stacey sold.
Chase asks Michael to rub his shoulders and Michael says, "Have you lost your mind?"
Michael and Chase are part of the plan to help Zoey get her backpack business back and not let Stacey sell hers at the store.
Michael tells Chase and Zoey that Quinn is upset.

Disc Golf[]

Both are fed up with Gym Class.
When Michael said that he needs to lose weight, Chase says "Gee, I wonder if it has to do with those potato chips".
Michael looks at Chase angrily when the gym teacher said that he cost them two extra laps.
Chase said that he is proud of Michael for eating a salad.
Chase asks Michael if he is okay as he is walking funny due to Quinn's side effect.
Chase says that Michael shouldn't eat all those potato chips due to the side effect.
Chase is the first one to notice the new side effect for Quinn's potato chips.
Chase and Michael both tell Zoey to not get rid of Logan if the Disc Golf team when they need to get rid of someone due to the limit.
As the PCA team wins, they both celebrate (along with the rest of the team) with sushi and that Chase is buying.

School Dance[]

Both of them (along with Logan) agree that the dance is going to suck.
Michael said that he's got to run and Chase asks, "Where to?".
Michael runs into Chase, and both have a talk about the dance.

Little Beach Party[]

Both were apart of asking Zoey to help them for their exams.
Both were the first ones to be mad at Logan for taking them at the wrong beach.
During the montage, Chase, Michael and Logan are running next to each other and having fun.
Chase is the first one to tell Michael to go get his laptop.
Chase said, "aw my cellphone" and Michael wines "my laptop".

Season 2[]

Back to PCA[]

Chase and Michael are happy to see each other again and that Chase missed seeing Michael's "freaking face" everyday and Michael missed seeing Chase's "big bushy hair" everyday.
Michael asks if his hair got bushier and Chase said, "it's possible".
Chase asks Michael to catch him up on stuff and how was his summer, and at first, he was happy to hear until someone said that Zoey is looking for Chase.
When Chase runs away to see Zoey, Michael sarcastically says "Well great talking to you man".
Both are annoyed by Logan's new entertainment system.
When at lunch where Zoey and Nicole were talking about Lola, both Michael and Chase said that even before meeting Lola, and only knowing her as a gothic girl, they would rather live with her than Logan.
Chase said that Michael is right where Michael doesn't get enough sleep, he gets cranky.
Both sleeps in tents as Logan is using his new entertainment system at night.
Both are scared by Zoey and Nicole outside the tents.
Both get help get revenge on Logan by blowing Logan's system by turning the volume up too loud.
When the plan worked, Chase says "Night Michael" and Michael says, "Sleep tight Chase".
In the end of the episode, Chase, Michael, and Logan both meet the girls for breakfast happily.

Time Capsule[]

Chase, Michael, and Logan all look at old yearbooks and are seen laughing.
Both are annoyed at Logan posting pictures at himself in the monitor.
Chase said that there is a "50/50 chance" that he is going to puke by seeing those pictures and Michael says "Well I am just gonna move over here".
When Michael turns off the monitor, Chase says "Thank you".
Both are writing a song for their time capsule.
Michael said "don't write it" (referring to Logan's teasing lyrics).
Michael said "you were gonna write that were you" and Chase said "maybe" and Michael gave him a weird look.
Michael said "kill me" when Chase is talking about Zoey's video and what she might of said about him.
When Chase said "how does she feel about hats", Michael said "You don't wear hats!".
When Chase is screaming on his dream, it wakes Michael up and Michael says "CHASE" and wakes him up.
When Chase said "why did you wake me up?", Michael said if he just wanted to know if Chase had an extra pillow he can borrow.
Chase asks Michael to help him dig up the time capsule against his will.
They are digging the time capsule together.
Chase asked Michael if it's wrong that he is watching Zoey's DVD without her permission and Michael said "Does it feel wrong". Chase said yes. Michael then said that Chase doesn't need to ask him what he already knows.

Election[]

They are seen working on papers for Chase's ballet together.
Both are mad at Logan for helping Chase.
Chase steals Michael's mango smoothies and gives it to someone else.
Chase reminds Michael of a past dating experience he had.

Haunted House[]

They are seen eating lunch together with Zoey and Nicole.
Michael said "relax it's just fake blood" at Chase's French fries.
Chase asks Michael, Zoey and Nicole if he can have their French fries due to Chase's French fries being in Logan's fake blood.

Bad Girl[]

This is the first episode of the show where Chase and Michael are not seen interacting nor talking about what they are doing.

Broadcast Views[]

Chase and Michael are doing their web show together.
Both introduce Zoey and Logan to the show.
They both ban Zoey and Logan from doing the show again.
When Lola gives them the newspaper and find out that Logan and Zoey made the show have more viewers, they ask them if they can do their show.
Both are mad at Dean Rivers for cancelling their webcast.
They high five each other when they get their show back.

Girls Will Be Boys[]

Michael said that he is down to help Zoey as it would "make a fool out of his roommates".
When fake sick, Chase asks Michael if he wants to stay in his own bed.
Chase tells Michael to feel better.

Robot Wars[]

Both are a part of the robot war.
Along with the rest of the gang, Chase and Michael both laugh at Logan's joke about Quinn being a geek and feel guilty right after Quinn comes in and notices.
Both agree (along with the rest of the gang) that they owe Quinn.
Along with the rest of the gang, they all apologize to Quinn.

Lola Likes Chase[]

Along with Zoey and Nicole, they are seen studying together.
Michael high fives Chase as he is done with studying and leaves.
Chase talks to Michael about Lola asking Chase out.
Michael thinks that Chase should go out with Lola.
Chase asks Michael if he is gonna ask him out and Michael said that "his hair is to bushy for him".
Michael tells Chase not to be sad and that Lola is "hot", and "smokin'" and that Chase should be "psyched" at the prospect of going out with her.

Spring Break-Up[]

Michael teases Chase about Zoey.
Michael thinks that Chase should tell Zoey he loves her.
Michael says that everyone knows that Chase loves Zoey.
Chase says to not talk about Zoey in front of Logan and he will if he "Tells Zoey he loves her."
Chase says it's not worth of the risk of telling Zoey.
Michael texts Chase on his new Tek-Mate that he should tell Zoey he loves her.
Chase keeps saying no and that it would wreak their friendship, sending the text to Michael, not knowing it was actually not sent to him.
When Michael woke up and went downstairs, Chase notices Michael and says "hello".
Michael asks Chase if he told Zoey he loves her.
Chase said no once again and he asked if he read the text.
Michael said he didn't get the message.
Michael noticed that Chase sent the text to Zoey.
Michael said that "you don't know it's bad" that Chase sent the text to Zoey.
Michael notices to Chase that the message was unread.
Along with Logan and Dustin, they are in the same team for the show.
Chase said that he has a problem to Michael (referring to Zoey's Tek-Mate is not back in her pocket) and Michael said "Later!" as he, Logan and Dustin are doing the mission to find items with the numbers.
Michael defends Chase and said that "he wouldn't cheat".
Michael (along with Logan and Dustin) are mad at Chase for going in the water and making them lose.
When Zoey asked where is Chase, Michael said that he is not coming to watch the show.
Along with the rest of gang, Michael interrupts Chase and tells him and Zoey to come so they won't miss the show.

People Auction[]

When Chase says "must you embarrass me in front of my boss", Michael and the rest of the gang say yes.
Both don't like Quinn's idea.
Both are apart of the auction.
Both are happy about the Sushi Rox being fix.

Quinn's Alpaca[]

Chase, Michael and Logan all play basketball together.
All 3 of them make a 3-way bet on not saying "S".
During class, Michael says to Logan and Chase that he will win the bet.
At lunch, Michael and Chase are with Nicole and Lola.
Both are offended that Lola called them idiots.
Both are mad that Logan didn't fall for Lola's trick.
Along with Logan, Chase is happy that Michael lost.
Along with everyone else, Chase is amused at Michael's punishment for losing the "No S" bet.

Season 3[]

Surprise[]

Chase is mad at Logan and Michael fighting, 2 hours into the school year.
Chase gives Logan a timeout and talks to Michael one on one.
Chase tells Michael and Logan that whoever gets to the room first, gets the single bed.
Michael asks Chase if he told Zoey about Rebecca, Chase said no and Michael said that he better.
Chase suggests that Michael and Logan should do boxing.

Chase's Girlfriend[]

Chase and Michael are talking about Zoey catching Chase and Rebecca kissing.
Michael and Logan are both curious on how Chase and Rebecca met.
Chase and Michael are talking about past events from Spring Break-Up where Chase texted Zoey he loved her.
Michael is offended when Chase called Zoey his best friend and is replaced by Zoey.
Chase corrects Michael by saying that Zoey is his female best friend and that Michael is still number 1.
Chase calls Michael "such an idiot" and Michael said "aw well thank you".
Chase introduced Rebecca to Michael and the rest of the gang.
Chase talks to Rebecca about the cartoon he and Michael do.
Michael runs into Chase and asks if he told Rebecca about the cartoon news.
When Chase and Rebecca are arguing about Zoey, Michael awkwardly runs away.

Hot Dean[]

Chase is sitting with Logan and Michael at lunch.
Chase talks to Logan and Michael about a pair of pants and why people call it that.
They are having fun with the food fight.
Logan, Chase and Michael are with Coco and listening to her problems.
Chase says that Hot Dean should date Coco, Michael and Logan laugh.
Chase, Michael and Logan talk to Dean Taylor at the table to set up him and coco on a date.
Chase and Logan make fun of Michael for being a fluter.

Zoey's Tutor[]

Chase said that he is embarrassed for Michael's injury.
He laughs at the fact that Michael trips on a basket on his way to the bathroom.
Chase and Michael look at Logan and Zoey weirdly.
Chase said that he never had a 2-year crush on Zoey and says "right Michael"
Michael sarcastically says "Yes, there was no crush, you silly people."
Michael helps Chase and Zoey put a rat in Logan's pants.

The Great Vince Blake[]

Michael and Logan defend Vince in front of Chase throughout the episode.
Michael and Logan tell Chase to not tell the teacher or anyone that Vince was seen taking pictures of the test.
When Chase does, Michael and Logan defend Chase and help beat the football team with them (along with Mark being dragged).
They all get beat up at the end of the episode.

Silver Hammer Society[]

They are watching TV together in the start.
Both are taped to be in the Sliver Hammer Society, however Chase doesn't care.

Michael Loves Lisa[]

Chase can't stop the cart Quinn helped build to defeat Logan and was about to run into Lisa and Michael saved her. Meaning that if it wasn't for Chase and Quinn, Michael and Lisa would of never been together.
Chase, along with everyone else is cheering for Michael as Michael and Lisa are singing.

Wrestling[]

Both have to help with Zoey's shoulders and feet as Quinn and Lola are tried.
Michael laughs at Chase's move and that he was crying.
Chase defends it as he said he wasn't crying but Michael denies it.
Chase then said "thanks for humiliating me" to Michael.

Zoey's Balloon[]

They are sitting next to class together.
Both laugh at Lola's secret.
Chase is not amused at Michael's "tree is our restroom" joke.
They both laugh at their secrets (for Chase, He was the flower girl at his uncle's wedding and for Michael, Every year, when his parents drop him off at PCA, he cries for two hours.)
Both are happily doing the Macalana.

Chase's Grandma[]

Michael (along with everyone else) wants to throw Chase a party.
Chase is still polite despite his annoyance when Michael's alarm clock and Lola's cell phone are ringing, but snaps when Quinn is using her power tools and Logan is gargling. This could imply that Chase is more likely to be annoyed by Quinn and Logan than with Michael or Lola.
Michael and Logan wanted to do a beach party for Chase until Zoey said his grandma was coming, so they do pajama instead.
Chase told Michael that his grandma died and he only told Michael and told Michael to not tell anyone else.

Quarantine[]

Chase, Michael and Logan sneaked though the back door and enter the girls dorm when on lockdown.
They wanted to know if they had gummy worms but leave after the girls told him that their on quarantine due to Quinn's germ.
They try to leave but are stopped.
Chase said that watching TV will make Michael feel better.
Along with everyone else, Michael tricks Chase to think he is died when Chase wakes up.
When Michael sees the needle, he starts to panic and lean on Chase.

The Radio[]

Michael and Lola both think that the radio belongs to Chase whereas Quinn and Logan think the radio belongs to Zoey.
Michael and Lola both want a redo when Mark said that the radio belongs to Zoey.

Paige at PCA[]

Chase and Logan try to make Michael think that he is going crazy for a psychology class project after he refuses to do his share of the work.

Dance Contest[]

Chase and Michael joke with Logan that he was drinking toilet water.
When Chase said that he is going to ask Zoey to be her dance partner, both Logan and Michael laugh.
When Logan said "you can't dance" to Chase, Michael agrees by saying "Yeah, you know I love you man but you got zero rhythm".
Chase makes both Logan and Michael teach him how to dance or he would tell the whole school that they both cried at last year's American Idol finale.
During the montage, Chase, Michael and Logan are having fun dancing.
During the montage, Michael said that Chase "wasn't bad" but he had 0 chance to win.

Zoey's Ribs[]

Chase is tired of seeing Michael and Logan fight.
When they fight during the rib off, Chase is not amused.
Chase is happy when Logan and Michael hug it out.

The Curse of PCA[]

Both are in economics classes together.
Both are happy when they founds the necklace.
Along with everyone else, Chase and Michael are mad at Logan that he put the necklace in Zoey's backpack.
Chase high fives Logan and Michael when the exam is cancelled.

Drippin' Episode![]

Chase and Zoey both laugh at Michael inviting "Drippin".
Along with Logan, he is annoyed that Michael keeps on saying "Drippin" and that no one will caught on with it.
They both went back to sleep when they find out that Logan's J Phone was causing the fire alarms.
By the time anyone has caught on to drippin', Chase and Logan deny that Michael invented the word (just to annoy him, presumably because Michael annoyed the two with "drippin'").
Chase and Logan both walk away when Michael invites "Flump".

Son of a Dean[]

Chase and Michael was tasked to submit 26 episodes of The Chase & Michael Show to Toonjuice.com in less than two months.
The first episode they submitted, where their characters are bowling pins afraid of a bowling ball rolling towards them (thanks to Logan suggest it to them) gets them sued by a TV show called Friday Night Live for apparently ripping off their sketch.
They sneak into the limo Zoey was riding to LA to the set of Friday Night Live to talk the producer into dropping the charges.
Both are happy that they won't get sued to the learning that FNL wasn't the first show to use the idea either.

Hands on a Blix Van[]

They both tell Zoey and Lola about the news on the Blix Van contest.

Miss PCA[]

Along with everyone else (minus Quinn), Chase laughs at Michael's joke at the start.
After Michael tells Chase and Logan that he found a way to make Quinn laugh, Chase laughs at Logan's joke saying "You are gonna show her a picture of that mustache you tried to grow?"
Chase and Logan look skeptical whether Michael's joke will make Quinn laugh or not. They both give Michael a mocking thumbs up when his joke fails to make Quinn laugh.
Chase is just as shocked as Michael when Michael's "play dirty" joke made Quinn laugh.
Chase than tells Quinn "he wasn't being that funny". Quinn said "I know but at least he will stop to try making me laugh." Chase than said "Clever".

Logan Gets Cut Off[]

Both clap with Quinn's airbag bra invention.
Both questioned why Logan brought the car.
Both are watching TV and said why did Logan need to buy the car and get all of his stuff taken away.
Both get sushi after Logan leave.

Goodbye Zoey[]

Along with everyone else, Michael knows that Chase would tell Zoey to stay.
Chase and Michael talk before Zoey leave PCA and why he doesn't care when Zoey left PCA.
Chase tells Michael that the reason why Chase didn't tell Zoey goodbye was because he was mad that Zoey didn't tell him first and that he had to hear it from other people at PCA, thinking that she didn't care.
Michael says that she did care and that Chase's opinion meant to most to Zoey.
Chase regrets it and asks Michael for her new (Zoey's) new phone number and Michael tells him that Quinn or Lola might have it,
Along with the rest of the gang, Michael is disgusted that Chase is hanging out with Gretchen only because she looks like Zoey.
Along with Logan, Michael talks to Chase alone and saying that he needs to stop hanging out with Gretchen.
Logan ripped the head off a stuffed giraffe Zoey gave him and after Chase attacks him, Michael grabs Chase.
Chase said that everything Logan and Michael said was true.
Michael than said "we know you miss Zoey, man".
Chase then tells Michael and Logan that he doesn't just miss her and that he is in love her. Not knowing that the webcam was on, Zoey hears this.

Season 4[]

Trading Places[]

Michael is the one to tell Zoey that he isn't at PCA when Zoey came back.
When Zoey answers the video chat with Chase, Chase said "Michael...Zoey isn't in", then knowing it was Zoey. This may mean that he was excepting Michael to answer the video chat.

Fake Roommate[]

Michael is shown to miss Chase as he drew a picture of them together.
When getting a hot tub, Michael says "Chase, who?" meaning that he still misses Chase but other fun stuff can get his mind of Chase.

Rumor of Love[]

When Michael and James are talking about extra space, James goes "Maybe it's because you miss Chase."
Michael answers by saying "Well Chase has been my best friend since sixth grade."

Vince is Back[]

Along with everyone else, Michael doesn't want Vince back at PCA because of what he did to him, Chase and Logan.

Chasing Zoey[]

When Michael noticed Chase, he gives him a big hug.
He also gives Chase another hug when he finds out that him and Zoey are dating.
Chase and Michael briefly dance together before going back to their girlfriends.
At the end of the episode, they are seen goofing off and dancing with Zoey, Lisa, Quinn, Logan, and Lola.
